YOUR LEAPING STYLE IS SHEPHERD!

Have you ever heard of a Trust fall?

It’s when you are willing to take a risk because you know that there is someone behind you that won’t let you fall. Knowing your leap style helps you confidently fall into the hands of Jesus as you take leaps. It gives you confidence as you look at His history and faithfulness throughout your life in other areas you’ve taken leaps and reassurance that the One who led you to leap, won’t let you fall.

Now let’s learn more about your style of leaping.

WHAT IS A SHEPHERD?

The way you’re willing to adjust to environmental changes combined with your heart of obedience is an amazing part of your identity and how you have been made in the image of God.

As a SHEPHERD you may feel an unusual comfort, willingness, or call to travel to unknown places or relocate in an effort to find out what is on the other side of the unknown. Although you calculate the risk, you are not deterred by it, but rather inspired by the potential to see God move in a new territory.

This leap comes from the biblical story of Abraham. When God called Abraham to go to a new land he was a full-time shepherd. He had provision through his trade, but the uncertainty of what awaited him as he occupied new territory for God. God invites Abraham, a pagan, to take a leap into unfamiliar territory and he chooses to respond and obey the voice of God.

We can learn so much from Abraham’s preparedness, stewardship, and obedience as leapers.

As a Shepherd, you may find yourself in situations where it seems your vision exceeds your ability and you’re awaiting the provision. You may even question your stability. The nudge to relocate doesn’t make you unstable when you are being led by God, it means you are obedient.

The vehicle that God may use to move you may be a career relocation, family needs, even church planting. God will use whatever He knows will get your attention so that He can send you where He wants you to grow and go.

It can be difficult at times, especially when doubt, fear, and worry try to creep in, but this is why you must use the same wisdom and strategy God gave Abraham that helped him properly prepare, plan, and execute his leap, to take your own.

“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”

-Genesis 12:1
