YOUR LEAP STYLE IS FISHERMAN!
Have you ever heard of a Trust fall?
It’s when you are willing to take a risk because you know that there is someone behind you that won’t let you fall. Knowing your leap style helps you confidently fall into the hands of Jesus as you take leaps. It gives you confidence as you look at His history and faithfulness throughout your life in other areas you’ve taken leaps and reassurance that the One who led you to leap, won’t let you fall.
Now let’s learn more about your style of leaping.
WHAT IS A FISHERMAN?
The way you’re willing to shift and adjust to sudden and unexpected change, and your heart of obedience is an amazing part of your identity and how you have been made in the image of God.
As a FISHERMAN you may feel called to leave what is familiar, such as a career or job, and dedicate your time, talents, and treasure to a new adventure. Being completely led by God makes the risk worth it.
This leap comes from the biblical story of Peter. Peter was a fisherman by trade, however, one day, Jesus called out to him to become one of His disciples and “Fish for Men.” This invitation to take a Leap into an unfamiliar and unpopular industry, the salvation of souls, was for an eternal purpose far beyond what they would ever understand. We can learn so much from Peter’s obedience, willingness, and fortitude as a leaper.
As a Fisherman, you may find yourself in situations where you need to completely walk away from your career in order to walk into the assignment God has given you for a specific season. Whatever it may be, your willingness to do so is because you have a heart that wants to obey God, no matter the cost.
It can be difficult at times, especially when there are uncertainties along the way, however, that is why you must use the same wisdom and strategy God gave Peter that helped him properly prepare, plan, and execute his leap, to take your own.
“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.** “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them.”**
